Nature has its phenomena. From the Santa Ana on coastal California to the Mistral in Southern France, throughout continents and cultures strong winds have stepped beyond exceptional weather event: they came to symbolize a transcendental power, affecting humans and their behavior. In times of the devil wind, tension is - literally - in the air and folklore says is has "people going crazy". The work DEVILWIND plays with the viewers perception and subconsciousness, subtly opening room to a personification of the tense atmosphere - or is it just a mirroring of the unsettled self? To emphasize a chaotic and instable basic tenor, the fixed metric of a haiku is abandoned and scattered bilingual words (Russian - Englisch) are integrated into the work.
